There’s this dude going viral on twitter right now for his list of programs that he legitimately believes can compete for titles, and one constant in the responses has been “why isn’t Michigan on there”.

Michigan’s classes are starting to fit that Harbs mold, but those top end dudes that OSU gets, I don’t think they get many of them (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). I think building an elite program comes down to getting the big uglies and the like, but the thing that separates contenders are the MHJs, Brock Bowers, etc.

Strangely, tOSU has seemingly regressed at developing the guys at the less glorious positions, but have gotten even better at the skill ones. It’s hard to ever predict what they’ll do against other elite teams bc of that

I agree with you 100%. We got Peppers and Gary. Those two were the highest recruits we’ve had in years. It created a spark our program hadn’t seen in 15 years. Unfortunately we just cannot land anyone. He’s got the dawgs on the team. Figured out how to attract those guys. Made some of them freaks.

Yet, we NEED to be able to land that upper echelon talent. It’s inexcusable.I want to see him foster a 5 star freak into something we’ve never seen before.

My concern is losing out Bryce Underwood. We’ve also lost out to a lot of the highest stars in MI to complete outsiders to the region. Bama and Oregon have taken a few of them recently.

Harbaugh fought it for a long time. It looks like he’s on board and it’s starting to change some things. So far it’s been to keep players from going to the NFL. Had Ojabo been born in the US, we could have kept him, but NIL doesn’t apply to foreign players. It’s why we kept most of the OL, Corum, and our DBs. The donors are definitely there, but it’s not yet been fully accepted. I hope Ross sells the Dolphins so we can go full throttle.
