Agreed
The ACC, B12, and G5 all get a representative while the SEC and B10 can combine to send their 5 best teams. No more 3 loss arguments
Going from 4 to 12 was a wild change as it was. Now weâve diluted historic rivalries and the regular season. 3 losses and youâre b****ing? After sneaking in ahead of an undefeated team? Just stop it.

The b****ing will never stop no matter how many teams are in the playoff field lol

Yeah, I mean they could have just not lost to Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. It could have all been so simple
8 would have been better honestly.
12 was always too much. Always said it should be 8 max

Top 12 straight up no auto bids.
Emphasizes OOC scheduling. If you win your conference and still arenât top 12, your conference isnât good enough.

SEC d***rider talking about "emphasizing OOC scheduling" while its top teams were playing UMass, UTEP, and Mercer in late November
SEC only plays 8 conference games so they can add another cupcake to their already weak OOC schedules
Just stop the bias and look at things objectively
Texas is the #2 team in the country without having beaten a single team currently ranked. They avoided Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and LSU and don't play any of those teams next year either
The b****ing will never stop no matter how many teams are in the playoff field lol
Thatâs what I donât understand from March Madness. Youâre upset some 18â11 or 28-6 G5 team is left out?

Howâs that any diff than Marshall, Western Michigan, prairie view, eastern Illinois?
Lest we forget bama went on the road OOC p4, Texas went on the road ooc, Georgia went on the road ooc p4 twice. LSU went ooc, SC has a built in OOC every year so does Georgia and UF, Tennessee went Ooc. The extra b10 game isnât as strong as you think. The SEC playing an extra conference game is another data point the other conferences donât want.

Generally we got to be careful about âranked winsâ too. They need context.
Whatâs the difference between the 26th ranked team and the 25th or the 24th? A number beside their name? Are they magically better because they are the 25th best team compared to the 26th? Also thereâs a big difference between beating the 35th best team and beating the 75th. Just because both donât have a ranking number beside their name doesnât make them equal

I feel like itâs helping push the eventual consolidation goal of the top conferences. Itâll have a reversal demand to cut teams in the playoff and while weâre at it, why keep the G5 at all?

On what planet did Georgia go on the road OOC p4 once, let alone twice? Their OOC games this season were Clemson (semi-home), Tennessee Tech (home), UMass (home) and Georgia Tech (home)
Texas and LSU are the only SEC teams that deserve credit for a respectable OOC road game, and LSU couldn't even win theirs against a team that finished 6-6. You can give Alabama half-credit for Wisconsin because of how long ago that game was scheduled.

Well it's common knowledge that bad SEC teams are overranked and kept either in the back end of the top 25 or very close to it in order to boost the resumes of the top tier SEC teams

Forgot tech was in Athens. That Clemson win is stronger than any other OOC win. They dominated a very good Clemson defense.
Thatâs hearsay and doesnât answer the question of
Whatâs the difference between the 25th team and the 26th? When you start counting a stat with an arbitrary cutoff, it becomes weak. Ranked wins hold value in their more solidified top 15 range, with teams that stick there.

The difference between the 25th team and the 26th team is typically the 25th team is a 3 or 4 loss SEC team and the 26th team is a 1 or 2 loss team from another conference

Youâd have to show evidence of that.
The difference between them is that people have been conditioned by ESPNâs playoff marketing that not having a number besides their name means theyâre s*** and a win over them means nothing. We as fans should realize thatâs bullshit.
People donât see 2 losses in an ACC or MWC as being equal or greater than a 3-4 loss SEC team, and Iâd agree. Running through a ACC schedule that avoids Clemson is not the same as having a Texas schedule. Indianaâs schedule is not Texasâ as much as people want to compare them.
smh dumb ass rankings
How the f*** are bama 11th with that record lol
Roll tide
I like this playoff field
Letâs see if the underdogs can make some noise against some less than stellar power 5 teams
