Then play the worst team remaining in the semis

Their schedule is so f***ing weak, the only 2 remaining "ranked" teams they play could very well not even be ranked by the time those games roll around.

Might be selling USC a little short because I do think they're a playoff team but it's not hard to see a scenario in which they lose tonight and go 0-2 vs Michigan and Penn State and have 3 losses by the time they play ND

Yeah it's pretty enviable and almost seems like it was kinda tailor made for ND. We're definitely going to be getting multiple 2 and a few 3 loss teams in, and ND will be sitting pretty year after year with their 1 loss because of their weak scheduling.

USC is absolutely an intriguing team though. Should they win tonight, I think their playoff spot is also all but secured provided they just split with Michigan and Penn State. Could lose to Notre Dame and still get in with two losses and two good ranked wins. If they lose tonight, things get a little murkier
