and no, no one said no recourse. but i also dont subscribe to the idea that those things are facts of life that will occur regardless of what we do
well of course we should try and do preventative measures first, mental health care and quality of life improvements being a top priority. obviously that will take some time, so meanwhile IF they do happen, then we need a regiment of society trained to deal with the situations as they occur. hopefully safely.
in regards to mass shootings, they don't always end up with the gunman committing suicide, there has to be plans in place to deal with them in such a scenario. furthermore, shouldn't we try and reduce the amount of harm that they do? even if they only last minutes
