i mean elon is far worse.
but they got a 4 hour doc about him out right now too

definitely far worse. EH is proof these people need to be put in jail. or worse
but elon probably never seeing a jail.
but maybe that's because the people invested in him still making money so it's all good.
defraud the public and regular people all you want. as soon as defraud somebody with some real capital though... oh you going to jail FASHO
What about the whos on first scene that scene blew my mind
nathan fielder mansplaining an abbott & costello bit ![]()
Every single doc after will mimic their cinematography style and the "raw capture" style of this film
not enough people talking about how amazing the score is in this
Nah fr it had no reason to be that good.
This s*** had a better first weekend hold in the box office than obsession jeez
Tomorrow
Ticket Tuesday
give us the 300 hour cut
( I unironically think a long form documentary shot like big brother would do numbers)
And the fact she thought she would be able to get him to warm up to her and they just end up arguing
"I'll disarm him"

We make fun of billy for making an ai replacement of elizabeth and getting her to say whatever billy wants. But then nathan does the same exact thing with amanda. Interesting parallel. Then Elizabeth becomes... quite literally, the character nathan created. Cant trust anything he shows in those scenes... or can we...
everyone is being interrogated in this. Nathan, Amanda, Elizabeth, Billy, and the viewer. To me one of the central themes of this film is how difficult it is to convey or represent anything— let alone for people who arnt in the room or don’t know someone at all. I think the film accepts that it cannot prove innocent or guilty for Holmes crimes, and instead is far more concerned with communication and perception. The genius, for me, is how competently Nathan / Lance and co approach this subject. They don’t exclude themselves from interrogation. It’s very telling to me that the final text pre-credits decided to fade half the paragraph first, leaving the audience to read “they’re not playing me, they’re playing a character I created” as the final thing the viewer sees. In this journey of trying to reckon with truth, intent, and communication, the film makers know that they technically are falling into the same traps. It’s so fascinating.
Husband’s personality is so different post Elizabeth in jail… very clearly on that POWDA
899 days with just Pamela Handerson
he was definitely cheating on her

Doing this, Digger, and Your Mother this weekend
Order should be Your Mother Your Mother this then Digger
"I'll disarm him"
I feel like a undercover cop. Immediately gets him angry and threatening her
I have to say about people wanting that nomination
her acting isnt her strong point in this movie its being herself I dont know if that to me qualifies for a best actor award in a documentary because then by that logic why couldnt elizabeth holmes get a best actor
I dont know about best actor in a documentary guys lol I think that sets an odd precedent
9:15 getting out at like 12:45 I was in there so long I started to think what if _ died and I am just in a movie.
Had no right being that long. Especially when a lot of what occured wasnt new information or really learning more about her as a human being. It was using her at times for content or showing how out of touch she was. Making jokes about her as a way of revenge for what she did. When she already going to prison for 11 years lol. I get it what she did was bad. She lied to investors. Defrauded them. Lead to patients getting false results. I would have loved some s*** like patients who got false results facing her or asking her questions or her seeing the results of what she did on them in some form.
I could care less about rich investors they can eat s*** and die regardless. Them making her a billionaire , popular, then taking it all away and she is poor now makes no part of billy or her want money to film her life not doing it for free shocking.
A24 will make crazy money off a movie that honestly in no way helped her public image. Yes it shows its more than just her. Shows she is human being but insinuates she is the greatest liar and evil mastermind the world may ever know. Legally for her after she gets out she should have not reached out to anyone for this and just lived her life.
legally she shouldnt even try to create a Theranos 2.0 for redemption or whatever . But the moment they are talking to the man who in for the sequel of it they cut the interview because of a coke head
so at times "you can see everything" but at times you can feel a24, Lance and Nathan framing it where you can see WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO SEE.
shes not even a great liar. she failed to get her self out of prison time. shes just committed to her bit in the same way nathan was with different valences (chaotic neutral vs chaotic evil)
spoiler lol

I mean but sticking to the bit didnt even benefit her majorly she lost all the money and fame. She is serving prison. She was the face of it while the indian guy is forgotten about name wise. She still is trying theranos 2 rather than accepting she is a drop out and average intelligence unless there is something I am missing. I dont view her as some super liar genius. I view her as likely on the spectrum and out of touch with reality due to her development years being in terrrible relationships.
one part my theater laughed a bit too much at was
when her dad talks about her experiencing rape changed her
THEY WERE LAUGHING THEIR ASS OFF AT THAT. Its like I GET IT she isnt a perfect person by any means she is guilty blah blah she lied defrauded investors but a lot of what my crowd laughed at wasnt even the parts that were funny some of it was just seeing nathans face they would burst in laughter and its like bro chill
