2 trilogies completed and released is wild . Not many others could see that thru

That’s the point they not getting

They nitpicking about Hitboy not being they cup of tea and completely disregarding the fact that Nas blessed us with 6 albums of him rapping his ass off from 2020 - present

How could you feel like you real and not respect that work ethic, the longevity, and the consistency of Nas pen this late in his career?

Anyone talking down on these projects are nerds (not the intelligent kind) and lames and not cut from the type of cloth that this type of music represents anyway so they opinions irrelevant

    It’s real close

I still think Hov edges him out because his prime was more impactful and he’s more versatile and was at or near the top of the rap game from 98-17’ nearly 20 years

Illmatic is the most impactful classic between them, maybe of all time, but during Hovs prime Nas was always playing catch up

17’-present though Nas had definitely been the better rapper no contest

wtf you talking about, Jay's last great album before 4:44 was American Gangster which was in 2007, that's 10 years. Hov barely does features and he has like 5 great features since 2014

Come on bro you over here with the subjective bullshit talking bout ā€œlast great albumā€

Shut yo opinionated ass up and look at actual facts my nigga

Outside of Eminem BP3 was the biggest rap album of 2009 and had a #1 weather you liked it or not

WTT was one of the biggest and best releases of 2011

MCHG was also one of the biggest rap projects of 2013 regardless of whatever the opinions were

He’s also had huge features every one of those years and in between

You acting like he dropped American gangster then went on hiatus for 10 years stop the cap

Like I said Hov was either at or NEAR the top of the rap game from Vol 2 - 444 with very few breaks in between

Meanwhile there were several eras where it was completely quiet for Nas

No disrespect I fw Nas heavy too but I just call s*** for what it is Nas wasn’t making hits like that, most of Nas albums wasn’t big like that and didn’t effect the culture like that. Nas most impactful albums are his first 2, stillmatic, LIG and this Hitboy set

There was only really one era where Nas was quiet from 2012 to 2018, and in that era jay only dropped 2 projects so it’s not that much of a difference really.

Projects like Hip Hop Is Dead and Untitled were still impactful too

Jay had a slight edge before this run

Now I think Nas has a slight edge

There’s been a lot of rewriting history on Jay albums to act like ones that didn’t impact much are more important than they are which makes his catalog look stronger

For Jay, Kingdom Come and American Gangster had very little impact, so he had a big gap between Black Album and Blueprint 3

    Zero

Its so funny you say that cause he started out as one of the most unique producers, idk what happened

idk he caught lightning ina bottle during the early 10s and afterwards his beats all sound boring and sterile like AI made them. the only one of his that properly moved me recently is the one alc rapped on

lmaooo what we talking here? Quality or sales? Jay was always bigger than Nas except from 96-99. Quality wise Nas blows Jay out of the water. No one cares about The Blueprint 3 or Magna Carta, Life Is Good is better than both of them by a long shot. Idc how much Jay Z sold, he has many mid albums and that's a fact. Nas has atleast 10 great albums now
