I just don’t get why some people are annoyed like “it’s your fault you expected it to be great”. I don’t go into most albums expecting them to be great. But I go into every album hoping it’s great. Is it my fault a project isn’t great? No it’s the artist. But you can’t be mad at the artist. It’s their literal art. That being said I thought the album was good. Nothing amazing. Just good. Was I let down a little on the beats? Yeah. But I’m not mad.

Maybe I’m hearing a different album, but I love this! It’s at least better than half the hitboy albums, time I’ll tell if it’s over the other half, but it very well could be. This needs repeated spins, but it’s insane!

I kinda agree with that. But for me it’s cause Nas flows a little better in these beats than some of the hit boy albums. But for me beat wise just about every hit boy album is better.

One thing I’ve always loved about Illmatic is you ca close your eyes and picture being there it’s so vivid. I think this has that kinda energy. It’s like a movie of New York, both old and new and I think the beats complement it so well!
