bro osama's rapping on there is legit his worst ever
no interesting flows or nothing
like i loved flex music and jump out grew on me a lot, but i've tried multiple times to get into that album and just haven't
for me personally, che surpassed him with encore
Counter argument

I feel u
I thought he caught some good flows at points, but yea not as interesting as flex music
idk what it is, I just think he brought the right energy and did the rage sound better than pretty much anyone else while keeping the sound of the album varied enough to not make it a chore to listen to front to back, which a lot of rage tapes suffer from.
you're stuck in 2017 hating on eminem thats an old narrative we're off that in 2026. you became the out of touch unc you always railed against
greatest thing nettspend has ever done. that is all. the opening lines go so hard.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1Hq68tFR4gThis is terrible
yea that’s not rly my point tho :( I put effort into ts when I make a text heavy thread I wish yall would look at the nuanced point and treat it with the same effort of reading the body instead of knee jerk react to the title
Nah bro I see what you saying but i think u being too hard on him
I think he is positioned pretty accurately in the scene and to say he didnt innovate is a reach when him and Xav were figureheading the jerk beats early
And all of those kids got deals at the same time bro..Che was signed a year before all of them actually
Nettspend was important and to stunt on him doesnt really make sense because he's apart of the commercialization of the current scene
it is
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUjXQIdpPxIYou can’t post a video like this about low lyrical effort distortion core rage rap
This s*** is the twilight zone lol
What if they all just suck and rap at that level (no lyrical appeal or effort all based off of aesthetics and branding) is just about your appearance and marketing and the music is just a prop. A white dude cosplaying as one of those types is more jarring and attention grabbing to the main demographic of people who consume that type of music
That is the type of rap fanbase integration you fight for when you call niggas old haters for thinking this s*** is trash lol. If this wasn’t considered rap/vaguely connected to the branding power of rap to begin with, the juxtaposition and “shock” of some white kid doing this no longer exists
Its only because y’all fight for this trash to be rap to begin with that he even gets to wave around guns in trillers lol
Replay value on ELC crazy
i legit had none to little expectations for it and was nicely surprised
also i don't really get the phresh angle ? @op
not really a fan of dude's music, but he undeniably has a cult of defenders and was genuinely one of the first guys i seen do the jerk wave along with the nostalgia s***
to say he didn't influence ppl or that wave to go as far as it did i'd say it is a little inaccurate

I mean thats a harsh way to put it, but yeah its about who is capable of world building, brand mythology, and setting trends visually/sonically.
The people who do it the best win because they garnish the cultural leadership and the cultural leadership is what brings in the fans.
It's a scalability thing.
i wish that convos like these had a better/more curated area to thrive in on a site like this
because while there is a concentrated group of users who have genuinely good s*** to add to this kinda thread, there will always exist the unfortunate overflow of users from music sxn who will come in looking for a cheap dunk to farm enough likes to where it's visible
or just another stubborn and out-of-touch "oldhead" who looks to enforce their opinion as law and maintains their presence in a thread like this operating out of the worst faith possible
Is nettspend the guy with a mom that is a label executive? I just think that sound will never be mainstream to the causal listener.

thats 2hollis, his mom cofounded skrillex's label

yea tbh I’ve realized there’s no point to putting effort into posting these types of threads and I’ll prolly just stop honestly I’ve had better discussions on discord even atp
Replay value on ELC crazy
it’s decent I like bout half of it I don’t hate nett he def got some good stuff
also i don't really get the phresh angle ? @op

Fair and yea ur right to point that out. Thank you.
yea he brought jerk to the uk and yea his aesthetic was influential but my thing is, his whiteness was a big part of what marketed him and can def be attributed to why he had wayyy more motion than basically anyone else in his lane way before anyone else yk? The image of this pale skinned twink in white girl 2014 attire was a big part of it and it worked same with how nett being a blonde white kid with a glock on triller was the main marketing component that made his s*** go off crazy if we are being real. Xav was also mixing the nostalgic s*** with the jerk s*** but it didn’t have that same shocking factor cuz he’s not a white kid. Phresh has defenders but I’ve never really met one tbh

That’s fair great point, I think I agree early on he def had his sound with nitmare and all but he kinda just abandoned it, but part of the reason he was a figurehead was because his whiteness blew him up. He’s not bad I really do mean mediocre when I say it as in he has good stuff and he also has equal amount of ok or bad stuff and he’s mostly derivative of his peers ever since BAFK. I checked, che is technically signed but it’s to an indie label not a major

He signed to 10K Projects..look up who Elliot Grainge is and you'll understand.
And yes Nettspend blew up and the whiteness is apart of his brand/the reason..but you still gotta give credit where its due with his output and presentation.
And largely I agree with your points just not sure if this 100% applies to him (Nett) in this space.
I think this was more true in the emo rap underground days i.e Tracy, Juice Wrld, Lil Peep etc..where you could create someone like JUMEX in a lab..that was way more dangerous and actually set things back until like 2020/2021
By that time Yeat and Weiland were big reasons of the revival just as much as their black counterparts i.e Summrs Autumn KanKan Babysantanna
I guess my question to you now is, are you saying that if Nettspend was black and did the same exact things it would be viewed as mediocre?
yea tbh I’ve realized there’s no point to putting effort into posting these types of threads and I’ll prolly just stop honestly I’ve had better discussions on discord even atp
it’s unfortunate because i do believe that good discussion can be fostered here so id really try to not let it discourage you
majority of these guys hate on everything in every music sxn thread so
