Honestly I try to respect the opinion of others but when someone is like “I love artist X but hate artist Y” when it’s clearly obvious there is a huge crossover or similarity of the two it is just jarring to me. Like leads me to believe you’re on some groupie s*** and gotta act like you don’t like a certain artist bc the internet told you so

when your critique of an artist is they "try too hard", I can see if you say its corny or not well executed...but "trying too hard" on its face, is a very stupid critique.

I dont like when people dismiss s*** that doesn't click first listen.

SOOO much music takes a few listens to acclimate to. The first time round ur gonna get thrown off by new s***, but after a couple relistens u dont get thrown off by it anymore and u can appreciate the music for what it is (think drain gang, summrs, duwap kaine, WLR). Or maybe the first time round u don't notice all the details but on relistens u start to pick up on that s*** (Pierre's music, Die Lit era Carti).

But nowadays it seems like if people dont like it first listen it's trash
