These mean nothing to me now after the provably false Eagles numbers.

the j Cole album had 5 top 10 singles (95 south, amari, my life, pride is the devil and interlude). the problem is that they only lasted a week each in the top 10

releasing the interlude as the single was dumb

I don’t think he was trying to get a hit or anything but he could’ve easily had multiple hits on this album

yea I hate the “he wasn’t trying to get a hit” thing
Like you’re absolutely right he wasn’t but artists being afraid of actually pushing for a hit is so f***ing dumb lol
Rocky does the exact same s***
It’s counterintuitive it doesn’t make you a more “real” artist to not have hits

I think it’s dumb too but I get the feeling that j cole does it partially because it also applies to his marketing towards his fanbase. By doing this, j cole might come off more genuine to his fanbase by not tryiang to conquer the charts and not focusing on sales

    yea for sure
Same story w why he didn’t put features on his albums for so long - just markets to his “double plat no features core fanbase”

    Comes at a cost though

Cardi is a rapper, Jack too. Even if they are features, they still there.

Speaking of Cardi, what’s up with her rollout? She had two number ones but no album

WAP just not gonna make it onto any albums?

Someone said she was never gonna drop. She went on IG and said she was gonna push that second kid, get surgery again, and then drop the album. So I guess that's the plan.

changing subjects but do you see the way donda is performing? last night at the 12 am update on AM the album had the top 18 on the chart, now it has the top 20. it also was 27/34, now it's 27/31. i don't remember any other album still improving past the 12 am update of the day it was released on AM, even other albums released mid-day like eternal atake.

im expected a huge debut on spotify
