dynamite? yep, def heard it on the radio and every where else
butter? never heard it anywhere
I wonder how do guys from bts sleep at night not condoning this behaviour from their fans. They are little insecure girls ffs. This is predatory
bruh
this been goin on forever with people clowning little girls for liking stuff, just let em like stuff. cringiest s*** is comments like these, whining about the purity of the charts like anyone gives a f***. these comments were few and far between when travis was goin f***in crazy with the bundle gimmick, you can see the double standard just pop right the f*** out.
mfers ITT like "ooooh nyooo my pure music industry will never be the same" like aite bro log off for a quick min, the concept of the boy band ain't exactly revolutionary
at this point blinding lights, a song from 2019, will still be on the charts at the beginning of 2022
i would be ashamed of celebrating a #1 song that only went #1 because fans mass bought it, meaning that one single fan bought hundreds of copies.
That's how it used to be with albums. Still is.

No it wasn't
Fans never used to plan to buy mutiple albums each just to get it to number 1

even if it was similar, it was never on this level. people from other countries send money so their fans here can buy extra copies just to get the song to number #1. then each fan buys like HUNDREDS of copies using different accounts.
while I appreciate the effort that the fanbase puts in, I still think it’s a bit sick in a bad way.

They did. Buying multiple copies was a thing too. It's just way bigger now with social media.
I've bought multiple copies of albums (CDs)

Fans just more connected now with social media.
I bought 2 copies of 2 albums last year. And I've done it before too because of multiple covers or limited editions.
Wonder how BTS feels knowing their fan base is the reason they’ll leave a nasty stain on the music industry
this is so unbelievably stupid
If you care about something that gives an accurate, and fair telling of a song or album's presence, consumption, and I guess, thereby, its 'significance'' (if you even want to make that argument) among the public and/or industry, then I don’t even know why you would even be in this thread reading any of this to begin with. If you are really about it, you must know the charts are completely f***ing gamed, and have been, for a very, very, very long time. You must know that even the concept of "top 40", or even ubiquitous content (not even in just in music, but practically all forms of media) consumed by a majority is dead. You must know the concept about the major minority, and niched consumption, and its effect in creating a false, exaggerated sense of another dying/dead concept "mainstream". You might even suggest looking at streaming data for fairer representation, until you of course remember how bloated, skewed, and gamed that data is too by people with way too much money and power.
Knowing all that, you surely wouldn't find yourself here making xenophobic comments about the fact that for once instead of rich companies funneling stupid amounts of money to propel artists for this false sense of representation and status, fans decided to directly fund and propel their favored artist for the status themselves.
Yet, here we are reading complaints about how someone figured out how to get a prize at a carnival game, so theyre cheating and not demonstrating a true sense of skill the game is supposed to test. And when you respond "carnival games are rigged to begin with", they reply half agreeing with you, but pick out an exception of when their friend won once, as if that supposed to give it any sense of legitimacy. Get the f*** out of here.
Ed still on the top 10 with the song people called a flop.
Still #1 in the UK too

I still think it's catchy. Already heard it on TV.
