China would need to mount a D-Day level invasion (minimum) to acquire Taiwan and even then it's much much harder terrain to overcome than Normandy. Even if America didn't assist Taiwan they would still probably have help from Japan and maybe even South Korea.

The project to turn Taiwan into a South Korea or Ukraine has never gotten off of the ground. That hypothetical is a fantasy of the west. Debating the logistics of the confrontation is pointless.
