Hulk 2003 and Superman Returns were superhero dramas that were overhated and if they came out post The Dark Knight and other dark reboots they'd have been given praise.
Hulk 03 and Returns both stand as top films for me in the hero genre
The scene in Superman Returns where he takes a bullet to the eye would’ve been a top 1 superhero scene if it wasn’t in the trailers

I didn't know at the time that was one of the most classic issues in comics history I just remember being weirded out cause Hulk was grey and Bruce was blonde on the cover

Rainbow Roadhulk 03 is a disgrace to everything associated with it and ang lee should be put on trial for war crimes for releasing such an atrocity

Hulk 03 was a visionary quest to try and adapt the comic format and it's the only Hulk film portrayal story wise that actually gets the character.
Hulk isn't an action hero he's a monster movie based in trauma and abuse. Ang Lee was the only one to understand that.
Marvel ever since has made him into the action figure/joke people see him as for toys

i can definitely tell you he understood the trauma and abuse part because that's exactly what I experienced while watching it

I was so so so obsessed with hulk 2003
Saw it in theaters when I was five, watched it to death on dvd till I was seven
It's the reason my fave color is green. Jen Connelly in that is the first crush I ever had
Same it's only issue was being advertised as a blockbuster and being released at a time where superhero films were only blockbusters.
In a post Nolan/Logan world that film is more acclaimed.
