FREEWild I went into JIK with no expectations and avoided the thread and the more I listen the more I enjoy it
Y'all boys gotta stop getting caught up in experinces around music.

Your feelings on the music cant help but be influenced bt the experince.
Y'all was all hype for the drop times amd everytime it didnt drop on time you got more hype I'm willing to bet.
"Damn this better be worth it" vs me I didnt expect a drop I stayed clear.
I also didnt want a gospel album neither.

i didn’t say that white people shouldnt be able to participate in rap discussion (although that’s a lovely alternative) i said their opinions hold no f***ing weight. stop the strawmanning cliche fr. that s*** pisses me the f*** off.
yes, im right that white people arent going to relate to street rappers, hence why i said a black persons experience with rap is much more complete, fully-formed and much more engaging. there is nothing wrong with what was said. white people ARE holding street rappers back because they get little to no shine and they’re dismissed off the basis that it’s that damn “nigger” music.
it’s literally stereotyped as gang music and it’s the music that people point out whenever they say rap is harmful, these niggas are pouring out their heart n soul half the time out and you got losers like yorkie dismissing them off of stereotypes and misconceptions and biases, it’s cringy, stupid and it needs to stop.
white people support the genre and simultaneously appropriate the genre and blueball actual dope artists, them bigging up the genre is a moot point
rap is black culture therefore it is black art, it is not that complicated. and they’re dismissing them off the basis that it’s not advanced musically enough to them so they dismiss it as trash, f*** relatability. y’all niggas can’t relate to half the s*** kanye be rapping about.
critics are not critics considering that all of the biggest publications for music are white, that’s fantano, pitchfork rolling stone you name it
and it’s not being racist, it’s adding context to discussions, niggas are subconsciously racially biased regardless

i will say tho white people who only like hip-hop somewhat because they were into rock and then listened to MBDTF never deserve to have an opinion

Its true tho and part of why that happens is this is a site for nerds.
Not shade Im a nerd we all are hence why we on a site dedicated to music discussion
But ultimately what Ive found especially talking to friends is they enjoy music way more then folks here and even me cause they not in constant hype.
They just hear music when it drops and rarely keep up with s*** and so they get it in the moment and its more pure.
I'm starting to do the same
