Never got the comparison or need to out one over the other. It usually comes down to stereotyping both and ignoring how similar they were.

comparison stems from the fact malcolm x is pretty much brushed aside and is acknowledged as a black supremacist (although i heard that he realized that he was wrong which is so beautiful close to his death) while MLK is propped up all the time, i just take a particular issue when s*** isnt touched upon enough in school honestly. but at the same time i feel like i wouldnt pay attention as much regardless so who knows, double-edged sword for me!
