i probably sound like a dumbass but brown sugar's album cover is perfect in relation to the mixing and sound of the album. that s*** gives me such shimmery orange vibes throughout the album

Dont have a favorite. Everytime I play that lp, i play it all the way through.

Did you ever notice the jazzy guitar figure on 'When we get By' is actually a melodic flip of 'One Nation' under a grooove ?

    Onnnnne natttion undeeeer a grooooooove

it is a brilliant concept. Most people don't catch it.

Just change the modulation and tempo.... D'Angelo the master of the interpolation flip.

Check it out, he's crazy that he can do that. It is one thing to loop but this MF used a jazzy clean guitar and put the catchiest hook as the background. That's how goat he is.

I was going to mention that D/Quest flip next.

This is offtopic sort of. Have you heard the Al Green lp that Quest produced? Hooooooooooooooooooooly s***.

It's so impressive. Quest & Poyser both produce it (So you know) Quest gave him the HI records sound of Willie Mitchell and what it would be like if he was to return to that.

Usually when people do this it's modern. They get a keyboard and add some synth horn's or worse, not this. Quest really went ALLLLL OUT.

Here's a song that will make you go 'Why didn't anyone tell me about this'

3 Guests are on it only. Anthony Hamilton & John Legend both sing with da GOAT

Fam....seriously... it should've swept the Grammys. It's on Blue note, Al green, you got Anthony hamilton,Corrina Rae, John Legend & Questlove/ Poyser producing it.

What else would you need? Obviously...... there's a issue somewhere

So many people don't know about it. It's a whole album with Questlove & Poyser musically saying 'al, why don't we use this'

He did a song with Devante Swing on his other album from 1995.

Al and Jodeci on the harmonies. This world is a simulation. That doesn't even make sense it happened.
