if he wasnt a rare Rise defender then i would understand to an extent, but he was, and most of what he complains about is present and started in Rise - and Rise has even MORE casualization than Wilds such as no hot/cold drinks or nutrients or no farm or how mons are AUTOMATICALLY showed to you without any kind of tracking or paints
and World is my fav MH game and a top 10 game of all time for me n i been playing since psp era - i know World through n through and spent so much with it, and im simultaneously playing Rise's expansion on Switch on a new playthru i started this year, and Wilds base game
in Rise, I killed Espinas in literally 9mins total, and 2ish minutes was spent on collecting resources and spiritbirds - if we go by just me fighting the mon that takes 6 to 7mins then that is literally almost World speed run numbers that start at 5mins n lower for high rank mons LOL - and this is expansion master rank. part of it is me being an experienced and above average player already, BUT its also partly due to Rise's actual lower number values AND the things like Palamute n spiritbirds + mainly the WIREBUGS that trivialize many attacks and danger zones.
lunagaron switch axe and a build focused on affinity crits and dodge extending
bro just YAPPING
n dont get me started on the huge damage number WYVERN RIDING IS - literally the strongest thing in the WHOLE series on top of being EASILY achievable and REPEATABLE, AND i think its even more damage numbers than f***ing dragonators in sieges LOL.

So do people zone in search all monsters then rest? In all monster hunter games i just got them by playing the game tbh

Yep, that's what I did to get all the crowns pretty quick. Wounded Hollow + check all monsters then rest + a handful from friends finding them and saving them as investigations
Much easier in Wilds than it was in prev. games.

2 consoles, me n my gf would check for crowns while watchinng the news
never had to trade or spam wounded hollow, mad lucky i guess

What is it about IG that’s so attractive to newcomers?

It and especially Dual Blades are the closes to a "full on action" game like a hack n slash or like a god of war that MH has is prob why
Them along with the long sword are usually the easiest to get a new person into the gameplay and for it to click

Wirebug weapon skills are so good
I wouldn't mind a reskin of them for wire skills along with wyvern riding (but make WR more rare and tougher to achieve) to get replaced with like lasso ropes or sumn in a future MH title

I was not aware that hammer was considered the worst weapon in wilds. Offset mechanics aside, It’s been doing me quite well. Guess I’ll be feasting when they buff it

I can't abandon Long sword. Its just too smooth and has everything I want gameplay wise.
I've been going through all the other weapons for my second weapon tho and I tried IG, Light bowgun, HH and now im at Gunlance. Probably going to stick with gunlance now
