miss the 2000s bro! lots of funny youtube s*** has disappeared since then!

in the computer lab:
tommy: "hey guys come watch hahaha!"
I don't like any of these it's too energetic and loud
kind of reminds me of dubstep back in the day

I skimmed through all 4 but ok i'll listen to all of them

yea ik, i made that thread lol
it's 100% not a genre and I've always said that
and all the songs posted in that thread contradict what a genre is like i've said here
look at somebody like Glaive or 8485 who don't make anything that you listed but are heralded as some of the main people in hyperpop
i thought, and maybe i'm wrong, but i thought you'd said that it's not a real term and that's why so many different sounds fit under the umbrella. honestly it just seems like a term a dsp came up with to ride the wave and be able to playlists these tiktok kids
so like the bubblegum pop wave from 2012~ (i.e. Starships) with modern drums?
Nah not like starships.
The whole thing is kinda "intense" in a way for the most part.
The sped up/fast part is usually v important or mainstay.
Its very particular/noticable once you hear a few examples.
I'd say as in older Electronic, its more related to like foreign club Electronic dance music & that "barbie girl" song with a more modern twist in the vocal effects n drums.

yea that's exactly what i said
and yea that's exactly what happened, spotify invented the term n the playlist blew up now it's this big term
check these out david pee
so hyperpop is just Goofy Tunes a few years later?
please put the carti-only version of Miss The Rage under this

every day we are more dettached from that platonic ideal of a utopian civilisation free from the corruption of irony poisoning. hyperpop is the latest of many trends in an attempt to hijack the nostalgia receptors in our brains to squeeze out some of the last drops of pure emotion we felt before forums. like junkies looking for specks of powder in the crevaces of an old dusty carpet, maybe its just a chip of paint. anways lol thats hyperpop jokes aside theres some boppers to it

so europop x yeezus
There has not been any mainstream Rap that is hyperpop yet
There are a few pop artists n under ground rappers/singers that have attempted the sound tho
Imo, hyperpop is too busy & too fast for Rap, or at least too much for the standard of Rap we have rn.
It would have to be an almost new style of Rapping for it to go & sound cohesive, to me.
I used to be with 'it', but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it' anymore and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

yeezus influence always seems revisionist its a perfect album but it has nothin to do with this or pretty much any other movement since then but people always bring it up
1st one is okay.. I guess it's aight but its not really my type of music
2nd is just purely awful.. reminds me of some s*** i'd hear in hot topic in 2008
3rd one was actually pretty decent
im not into that type of emo type stuff but its not bad at all.. can definitely see the appeal
4th one.... i absolutely hate the video and the kid singing it looks like he doesnt shower but its not bad at all
overall i appreciate you linking these to me
maybe in the future i'll sit down for one of these full albums and force myself to listen to it
