Three episodes in and wow this is dull as dishwater

This is horror for people who don't like horror. Absolute garbage so far. Hate how there's so little tension so you don't care about what happens to characters you already don't give a s*** about. As much as I shat on Midnight Mass, at least the first half of that show had atmosphere and glimpses of something brilliant. House of Usher has nothing outside of how it looks pretty sometimes and how the actors are doing their best.

I wouldn’t say it’s horror for people who don’t like horror. To the contrary, I think it’ll appeal to people who count down the days to Halloween, and crave anything spooky as if it were an IV drip. It’ll give you a safe, Haunted House aesthetic, and it’ll smell like cheap perfume. For a lot of people, that’s enough.

Someone said this show gives off Succession vibes, but Succession is galaxies better in its depiction of wealthy a******s.

Succession has empathy for the characters. I think that would have went a long way here.

God, Flanagan sucks. You can especially tell with this show when he's dumping his research for the viewer, like wow, can you get any more clunkier. Doing this without an ounce of scares in your so-called horror TV show is truly nasty work.

it’s gothic horror, which isn’t really like modern horror at all, it’s more about themes of morality and s*** like that. I think it’s an ok show, good performances, mid writing.
