hadjiI think as an artist who has seen people do this while on stage (it was like one of those family guy things) it didn't bother me too much in the moment
but I think the more you peel back layers of it, the weirder it is. like YOU bought a ticket to go see an artist—you're not watching them while you're playing chess or filming your friends playing chess. So basically you decided the meme was worth missing out on the thing you actually paid for. Did you buy the ticket just to go viral off that thing? If you want the attention that bad, download Ableton, make your own music and get on your own stage lmao

allstaryeah i agree it doesn’t only happen to black artists, people’s concert etiquette is awful these days in general.
but there’s still a connection to be made, bc there’s so many other ways they unhealthily interact with the art form PLUS stuff like this that all speaks to a very really issue in black art.
