I might be misinformed but xbox and Nintendo are like this too, but you can at least buy digital codes from other retailers for them so sony still lagging on that

Keeping cod on PlayStation will literally make them way more money than all their studios have made this year combined
Not to say this isn’t the case but people said the same thing with Bethesda and the next Elder Scrolls.
Once that Bethesda deal closed MS confirmed everything after Ghostwire Tokyo is exclusive to Xbox/PC including the next Elder Scrolls.
I would just wait until the deal closes and see what happens.
