So it's ableist to call someone racist who said a racist slur? Twitter logic, love it.

kinda, yeah. that’s literally how his form of tourette’s works.

He probably sees it as him apologizing for something he can’t change aka apologizing for being himself

Whether it was intentional or not, the word still carries a lot of harm in it. I can’t imagine him not feeling any kind of remorse unless he genuinely is racist

    to me its like

i believe disabled people deserve equal rights to able bodied people, so why should they also be above criticism and apologies? this is an event that certainly could have and should not have happened

i feel bad for him though cus BBC totally threw him under the bus as well for some views and clicks, he deserves better but he also shouldn't be ignoring the situation either

  • SABMAN TURNT

    yes lol

Must have been an unhinged show to watch

Or wouldn't it be ableist to put certain people on a pedestal to the point you believe no one with tourettes can also be racist?

True. I said this yesterday but it’s says a lot that he hasn’t apologized or reached out to the two actors

the thing about it is, if he was racist, that word wouldn’t be a tic for him because he wouldn’t see it as bad or taboo to say

people with tourette’s can definitely be racist. this, however, is not an example of that.

he can say sorry while acknowledging that. as s*** as it sounds, he's no doubt said sorry so many outbursts his entire life, he's gotta say sorry here.

he doesn't need to cede ground to anyone claiming he is a racist but for people to offer him much needed grace and understanding, he probably should do the same to people understandably hurt hearing that word and use it as an opportunity to educate.

it's literally explained in the post you replied to. it's not cope, this has been studied and scientifically explained since like the 60s

You realize you can understand a word is bad (to society) while also not feeling remorse for said word, making you...a...racist...

“why’d he have to be racist? isn’t that crossing a line?”
-someone struggling to understand what “worst” means

BBC are zionists anyway so it's not surprising but that is just insane. the Tourette community doesn't deserve to have this be representative of them. how many eyes and ears did this airing have to pass for them to make the decision to leave it like that? it's evil

Ya'll keep saying "oh it makes you say the worst thing possible" while literally giving no example of him saying anything as bad as nigga to two black men. Saying "fuck the queen" or "fuck you" is so f***ing mild compared to this and yall trying too hard to act like it isnt.

The cancer comment is obviously f***ed up but I promise you he apologized to his friend right after because he probably truly felt bad in THAT scenario.
