Agency yes but if he stayed at the awards ( again best move would be to leave to not have further tics ) he had involuntary tics choosing to stay which made things worse and others more uncomfortable. At a point the baftas , his agent or someone should have suggested best case was for him to leave or not be around others .

While at same time he lives a very very lonely life and I think he probably saw it as one day he could interact with others . I’m not expecting anyone who hasn’t worked with the disabled to understand. S*** I’ve worked with someone where an autistic patient spit on them and they reflexively spit on them back or stories of hitting back . I don’t expect people to understand

I think intent can be bad if no call to action from baftas or John Davidson . I think it’s not constructive to insert the internet into every conversation. Same way if the baftas beeped it or edited it and we just heard vague stories vs a call to action of what you want baftas or John Davidson to do . The internet is filled with many unhealthy people who do “ well if this happened to me “ “If a black person with Tourette’s “ or many hypotheticals . I think there is a way to be most constructive about the issue how poorly it was handled, being sure it never happens again without demonizing the disabled

I was slapped plenty of times when I worked with autistic kids. Our job was getting them prepared for public school and helping them focus , learn their parents names , balance stimuli and accomplish task . No I’m not tripping that’s what I trained to do and I helped non verbal and verbal kids ages 1-10 . Also worked with autistic teen in 2011 on tics and all those various things his was noises but for some it’s slurs. At times he would say or do inappropriate things for public and I helped him work through that to get better he was very thankful
