yea Idk if it's something along the lines of not wanting to apologize for his disability cause he's an activist or something but there's no reason he shouldn't apologize for the harm caused.
He can and should do that in a way that expresses regret for the harm caused without bending the knee to people insisting that Tourette's isn't real or that it somehow makes you blurt out your "true thoughts"

Feb 23in the movie there's a few parts that cover how he was raised to not apologise for having tourettes as it can't be helped, certain people raised him to be that way, his biological mother wanted him on pills more so he wouldn't shout out as much, it was his friends mom that got him off the meds full time, not sure if he's on them now, movie shows him having some sort of band on his wrist and it seemed to have stopped his ticks but the tech wasn't ready yet for him to keep
