The initial wave of praise was "paid for" yet this review bombing where the reviews don't discuss the film and get the actors names wrong are perfectly fine

Let's see who has the last laugh

I mean that tends to happen with movies with mixed/negative receptions

You wanted the movie to cover this ?

I didn’t expect the movie to cover it in depth. However i do think for Biopics in general, if we’re talking about a figure where these type of controversies were a massive part of their career, the biopic should at least take time to address it.

Even if they dont want to go in a angle of “this person is GUILTY of every allegation and a POS”, it should at least be touched on.
There is a way that it can be addressed, and say “hey, this was a big part of their life too”, and let the audience decide on how to feel about the person, and their controversies. Even from a critical stand point this would make a biopic more interesting narratively,

Biopics NOT addressing this stuff always comes across like they just want to avoid it and just glaze the celeb. Like theyre actively going “hey. Dont think about the bad stuff, ignore that and focus only the good stuff”
I understand the reason its left out is due to legal reasons. But the begs the question, “why are we making this if we cant even cover his whole career and mind”. And even then, if they really wanted to, they could address it without addressing the specific victim

Y'all can't be this slow honestly

The guy used to walk around like this. Do you seriously think they would give anything positive a fair shake?

idk why you're taking the reviews of an 2026 antoine fuqua movie so personally again, this isn't some anti-MJ agenda. this s*** happens all the time. if i were u, i would just watch the movie and form your own opinion hell, im gonna watch the drama today and critics hated it

Antoine Fuqua has an entire filmography of mixed reviews at best to begin with lol.

Ppl acting like this is a Scorsese, Coogler, Speilberg, or Tarantino film getting bad reviews lmao

Dude sucks so I'm not going to bat for this film but the reception is interesting simply because of how much of a Streisand effect the movie's choices have had on the stuff not touched on by the film

I've not given a review of the movie.

I think your reaction to the reviews is likely to be far more biased than the reviews themselves. I can see being skeptical, but maybe the movie just isn’t good. It’s not necessarily an indictment on Michael or his legacy.

Im sorry man but its not just the critics s***ting on the movie this time … janet and paris knew how this would turn out… the best way to show respect to MJ is not funding this disaster movie
