October 3, 2025
MJ been so synonymous with Halloween season why not give it an October release
feel like a mj bio should feel like going to a major blockbuster that sweeps audiences. idk if fugua has it in him to deliver that

I believe it puts it in Awards contention too, which is why they delayed it. They really expect this to do numbers.

Your doubts are not misplaced I'm afraid
But keep the faith
You can also see from the aerial shots John Landis has been cast
John Landis filming aerial shots? Oh f***… Twilight Zone The Movie all over again

When is the last time he’s even had an opportunity this big?

He’s a straight up hack imo but let’s see
Quality aside, you guys underestimate how much money these musical biopics make. Just this year the Bob Marley one made $180M on a $70M budget and Amy Winehouse did $50M on a $30M budget. This should make bank off MJ name alone
But like I said, cannot comment on what the quality will be lol
I think people are forgetting the Lionsgate CEO bought more stock of the company after visiting the set and they've moved it back because they think it will sweep awards.
Ignoring the fact they told Chinese press they're considering this to be a multi-billion dollar box office with "unprecedented" promotion.
AND it's now released during MJs peak every year, Halloween.

Just seen this s***
Wtf happened?

The article loads for me and it was written by that piece of s*** Matt Beloni
Matt is the one who stopped Chris Brown & Ciara's Thriller tribute, and had previously written an article saying he'd seen the script for the biopic which opens with the 1993 Neverland strip search.
Now, he's saying the third act?
The guy is a scumbag, but I have no doubt he's got connections.
I'm also very surprised that they were going so direct as to actually name those involved. I'm glad they were going to, because those liars should be exposed. At the same time to me, that seems like obviously legal trouble would arise.
"The film's third act, in particular, hinges specifically on the impact of the Chandler circus. In the script I read—which I’M TOLD was close to final, but OBVIOUSLY these things are OFTEN REVISED"
Throwing s*** at the wall and seeing what sticks. I'm sure there will be plenty of articles like this. Like I said, he's already said the film started with the Chandler circus.
I don't think he has a clue.

That second example is a flop
The substance made more money than that

This sounds far fetched as hell lmao
Why would an estate “forget” that they signed some agreement about something that important as it pertains to this movie
