It's interesting how he couldn't manage to move on from the sound he established for himself in the 90s. The melodies also have some similarities.
Honestly, I always thought Hollywood Tonight vocals sounded sus as well
I always thought Breaking News and Keep Your Head Up sounded like MJ
Hollywood Tonight is very obviously MJ.
The vocals were processed to s*** on the Michael album, but the 1999 demo leaked with MJ talking through how he wanted to do the bridge. (2:14).

Teddy Riley made a comment to Michael Prince, who was MJs longtime sound engineer, that he was glad to "finally have authentic Michael" when he got given the track to work on. MP had no idea what he meant at the time.

Yeah, this definitely sounds more like MJ to me
Michael album really is the s***s from top to bottom, it’s impressive
The only saving grace was the artwork and Behind The Mask, but with the OG version that dropped on Thriller 40 it’s obsolete now
The 'Faking Michael' podcast is out now. Going into the fake songs featured on the 'Michael' album.
They had plans for Drake to feature on Breaking News
I'm 3 episodes in and can only thoroughly recommend this, it's absolutely jaw dropping they went ahead with it.

Most of what we have originated from the 90s, though. Hollywood Tonight, Blue Gangsta, In The Back etc etc.
There are a whole batch of tracks worked on after the trial, that only some fans have heard - through going to New York Copyright Registry Offices - that are instrumental in nature, but nothing like MJ ever worked on before.
Titles like 'Rocker', 'D.I.E', 'Broken Chair'. None of these tracks evolved enough, and you also have the will.i.am sessions, RedOne, Neff-U's other compositions.
And.. that doesn't include the classical music he was working on, or the work being submitted to him by people like Ne-Yo.
I think by all evidence we have, it was a combination of revisiting old demos (the lists in his house when he died tell us which ones), new creations with some being described as 2000s hip-hop style, electronic, classical - it's not really accurate to say "he couldn't move on".

It's very repetitive but there are lots of bombshells including finally getting a snippet of the real version of Monster from Invincible and also the real version of Water.

All good, needed something to get me through this workday. Joe Budden is annoying me

i can only base it on what I've heard

Teddy a b****?
Teddy a b****?
Yeah, I knew teddy was not a good guy but didn’t know the full detail
It’s unbelievable what he did with this

He was even playing up the "Michael faked his death" stuff when that was a thing. He's a weirdo. I lost the little ounce of respect I still had for him after the Faking Michael pod.

Wtf
Today is a good day
Someone sue them cause that docu actually did a lot of damage, we even had a mcdonalds with a huge MJ statue and plaques that got removed
I'm curious; Do you consider Off The Wall to be Michael's debut album as a Solo artist? It was his first release with Epic Records, and cause of this I consider it to be his debut in my own personal head canon, even though in actuality it isn't.
@KingOfPop
Do you jerk off the Janet Jackson frequently? I was beating my meat the other day and realized she looked just like Micahel but with t*** and I immediately blew the biggest nut i think I ever have loaded up.
Also, remember the time a top 5 song in his discography

Yeah, I think so. I definitely listen to those that came before it, but for me OTW was MJs true first solo - he had a lot more control etc.
