I did notice Zendaya doesn't take much acting gigs, she's definitely very picky with her roles probably cause she wants to play to her strengths. I feel like she needs to get out her comfort zone and get more roles before I can take her seriously as an actress
Yup I agree with this too
I really enjoyed this. I watched 1 and 2 for the first time the day before coz my friend wanted to go see 3. From a fresh perspective on the trilogy having seen them all within 24 hours, I'd say 3 is the best one
I was curious about it and I found out MBJ is like 3 years older than Jonathan Majors, I would have never guessed that
Looking at a 57M opening weekend, the highest opening in the franchise and higher then MGM’s last major franchise opening No Time To Die
This was really good. Solid B. The action was 10/10, phenomenal. Niggas in my theater were cheering and clapping during the final fight
when that punch landed and Adonis dropped to his knees, all the ladies in my theater was screaming “get up” “getcho ass up!”
Narrative and plot wise it was lacking. Felt like they needed another 30 minutes to flesh Dame, and Adonis’ past up, flesh out why his mom kept him from seeing Dame, etc.
some of the best boxing sequences in the series
I did miss Rocky though
And I don’t like the Tessa Thompson singing stuff at all lol. Hated it in the other 2 movies too
to all y’all thinking about seeing this please do so on a $5 Tuesday. I spent $30 for 2 tickets and couldn’t be more upset.
Movie was a train wreck from beginning to end. It felt like things were just happening w very little rhyme/ reason. I knew s*** was off when J. Majors kept switching his accent
Dame could’ve been a really good character but they took 5 minutes to flesh him out?
No boxing gym would accept a nigga like that on earth, much less would they offer him a title shot after deliberately trying to hurt the champ and also being 0-0 at the time
Why not make Dame come across as a worldbeater? He fought Adonis w a 1-0 record
They could’ve at minimum given a 5 min montage of him fighting to build him up
The rivalry could’ve been more fleshed out, and Dame’s antics/ personality as well. Besides him being upset at Adonis, what else was there to him?
The Mexican nigga was a HW ?
Was dame really warranted in regards to all the resentment and anger he held towards Adonis? Bro was mad Adonis ran and he got caught…they barely even talked about their interpersonal relationship growing up, whether it was them boxing together, the group home, or the situation at hand. What was I supposed to be connected to?
Why was MBJ wife so f***ing annoying?
Apollo wife died who’s been a staple in this series since the 80s and it felt meaningless
Ending was ass too. I think the fight should’ve ended in a tie, or a Dame W with the set up for A. Another fight or B. The burying of the hatchet. All of that nonsense just for them to be like it wasn’t your fault and dap up at the end?
This movies saving grace were the fight scenes, notably the last one. The writing was all over the place, and there were so many loose ends throughout.
I think this movie is most comparable to the rocky w tommy gunn in it. That movie imo is the worst of the rocky movies 1-5, however this one is even worse
5/10 movies saving grace was the fight scenes and cinematography overall
10 hours
after watching Bruiser. I wish we lived in a world where Trevante Rhodes got the Creed part
That would’ve been so cold. Still mad he barely got any buzz for Mike.
Bruiser’s good?
Welp
Weakest of the 3 for me but still had a good time.
My only major complaints is i really missed Rocky, everything felt rushed so it makes the story weightless and Dame should of won
Personally I think the story for 2 should have been switched for 3. Have this be a combo of Rocky 3/5 and save big bad Drago for 3.
Looks great, the few fights we get were pretty experimental for this franchise but I liked it
Just like 30ish minutes more to build more for the finale & like one more fight thrown in and I would of been fine
Felt like watching Age of Ultron. The villain’s “reign” only felt like 3 days
7/10
Sidenote: Donnie still comes off as a d***head
My biggest complaint is dame having his boy from prison injure drago so he could get the fight and it’s never brought up again? A bit lazy writing in that regard I mean if something like that happened irl he would be stripped of the titles
So goofy

i agree no rocky nod or even reference with the theme coming in atleast once kinda hurt, but i get it. it's the third installment of the trilogy. if they were ever gonna try to split and be their own thing it's now
dame absolutely should've won tho
C+
Writing is ok
Cinematography is really good
Pacing is ASS
Acting is better than the sequel
I see why sly didn’t want any parts of this film
That liquor scene was cringe
Johnathan majors >>>>
Ryan Coogler should’ve at least written it.
I thought the pacing was great until the last act

they really should of shown Dame doing the foul s\*\*\* to other opponents (even Drago) and running through the division & he’s just gaining ego and taking things too far. Donnie is tasked with the Ol Yeller scenario
The Mexican boxer didn't look like a heavyweight at all
Dame looked like the Hulk next to that guy, idk why they did him like that.

Yea him having only a 1-0 record was kinda funny with all the s*** talking
