I loved this. The flare MBJ added to the fights
He’s a more than capable director and I’m so excited to see his next directorial project.
Majors was great as always
I wanna watch this again
Influences?
I saw MBJ say somewhere that there's some kind of anime inspo in how they approached filming fights in this, so I'm looking to see how it is since I've heard the big fight is amazing
not expecting some full out wacky naruto stuff but it's interesting to hear
C+
Writing is ok
Cinematography is really good
Pacing is ASS
Acting is better than the sequel
I see why sly didn’t want any parts of this film
That liquor scene was cringe
Johnathan majors >>>>
Ryan Coogler should’ve at least written it.

There’s a clear DBZ homage
I really enjoyed the movie a lot . it was a lot of well shot scenes , Like really well shot . Movie was beautiful . I loved the story beats as well, my only critique would be the pacing in the middle portion but phenomenal experience overall . Made my eyes water a few times

what was the liquor scene? like when they were at the liquor store as kids?
It's that good? Without spoiling what are some highlights? like are the training montages fire, music, effects, etc
Cinematography alone was worth the ticket
Story was ehhh tbh
But man idk if I’m overhyping this but that last fight sequence was top tier at least for me
Like I said if I was first time directing I’d be proud of this film no cap
Ok
Good movie. Camera work was good. Lighting looked great. Acting was good.
Pacing...... listen ...the movie feels like it starts and you blink and it's over. They hit the typical marks that they are supposed to hit (for a big blockbuster) but they skimmed over some things and it felt like the movie could have been 20 minutes longer. It felt as if the film was in a rush to end. Seriously it just speeds on through and I don't know why
The ending fight was fanfuckingtastic. I see what JM and MBJ meant about the anime influence.
I like it a lot more than Creed 2 but Creed 1 still is a masterful movie IMO. This movie doesn't have a Stallone type of character and it seems as if they made it so you'd never miss his presence. They should have let wood Harris slide into that role more but they didn't give him much to do (or any of the other characters besides the two leads). They give Tessa Thompson a good amount of screen time but they don't really...idk...make her an individual.
Again, the movie is entertaining and Jonathan majors is a POWERHOUSE. Seriously you can see it in his eyes in EVERY scene he's in what he's feeling and thinking. It's wonderful. MBJ does a fantastic job as well in this. It doesn't feel like he's overacting in any scene. I THINK I felt that way for creed 2 (only saw it once) but it doesn't feel that way in this one.
this cap?
Nah they right about the pacing. It's really not good
But they are bulshitting about that C rating.

Yeah for his first film this is pretty damn good.
