It makes sense with the general sentiment towards organized religion, I f*** with his motivations tbh
Not enough people calling out s*** like the Seventh Day Adventists IMO, a lot of cults preying on people of color are completely normalized and receive no scrutiny from the general public
Very dope mix and I’m excited for whatever album/project is set to follow

CURSED dropping tonight fam!
he was born into Jehovah's Witness family and community. left the entire thing behind and lost everyone he had in his life except his mom. he's been thru some real s***. ngl I got emotional af when he told me that stuff. he's still dealing w PTSD.
the more I listen to this tape (he sent me a week ago) the more I'm convinced it might be my actual favorite rap album I've heard all year... been a while raps (and beats, big shoutout Nammy) rly stuck w me like that and had me going back to run up again and again. v special stuff
I think it's also safe to say that in the history of grime there's not been anything like the 10min Human Life Does Not Have Some Grand Purpose... whole mid section is a rly weird slowed Christian hymn
❗RAOTY out now everywhere ❗

also @sab pls sticky
CURSED is a concept mini album and full-length diss track towards Christianity by a rapper born into the Jehovah's Witness cult.
there's never been anything quite as experimental as this in the history of grime, the production courtesy of modern legend Nammy Wams dabbling into noise and plunderphonics, tho also ofc delivering hard-hitting, off-kilter (neo-)grime beats which are among the best you'll hear all year. (see video below.)
MIC's performances and lyrics as well are unusually vulnerable and bare for the genre, drawing influence from Blonde (he's also worked with Vegyn), Alex G, Elliott Smith and even metal.
DSP of choice link: ffm.to/mic-cursed
I CAN'T PRAY / ANGELBLOOD bandcamp dl exclusive
hosted by youtube goat Madjestic Kasual

support on bancamp to get the grime remix of Robert Miles trance classic "Children", imo essential outro
