This was excellent. I wanna see what Retro can really do with switch 2 though, in a lot of aspects it felt like the levels could’ve been bigger and more ambitious but because it was designed for switch 1 that held it back.
You don’t need the amiibo to unlock it
Basically, it’s a reward in the game, all the amiibo does is make it so you don’t have to earn it by playing the game
You have to 100% explore the desert to unlock music apparently. Nah. Im good. Yall are glazing this s*** so hard.

There’s already desert music by the way, that’s just a feature that lets you change songs lol, the desert is small anyways you could probably fully explore it in 30 min, it’s more like hyrule field than an open world

Open-world Metroid could actually work

Not really. The “music” is the sound of someone occasionally blowing through a empty bottle. It’s nothing like actual ambient music. Once again, glazing this game harder than a krispy kreme

nah not open-world that wouldn’t make sense but just bigger levels, still linear

You said you stopped playing at the first npc, so you’ve never been to the desert anyways
I’ll enjoy it harder knowing dweebs like you are whining about everything
Delicious
95% of the game doesn’t take place in the desert so having a jukebox for it isn’t even that big of a deal, it’s such a tiny grievance

I didn’t need to. I saw other people play it. Not worth my time. Enjoy your mid.

Metroid is about exploration though, especially in the wilderness, like a certain influential Nintendo game
Starting second playthrough on hard mode

the f***! i havent even bought it yet and you already finished lmao.

game is a solid 9/10 imo, it has some obvious issues (the desert is definitely too tedious but at least driving the bike is fun) but the actual pace of the levels and everything else is extremely strong. It really is a far better version of Prime 3, fixes some of its problems, introduces new ones, and other issues still remain.
If you love all of Metroid and not just Prime 1 and Super like some ppl, you'll have a good time.
I just finished volt forge and i do have takes, some quite spicy, but im reserving them for when i hit credits
Really do love the combat gameplay in this. It feels more faster paced and action oriented. Makes sections of the games where you get into firefights feel like an arena shooter.
Which makes me wonder two things...
1. Why has Nintendo not attempted to port/remaster/remake Metroid Prime Hunters or Federation Force? These games were victims of the limitations the hardware they were on (DS and 3DS). I remember the backlash that Federation Force received, and it was hardly ever about the gameplay. That was actually good. What people complained about was the lack of Samus, especially since this was the first Metroid game since I believe Other M.
2. What is keeping Nintendo/Retro Studios from making a Metroid multiplayer shooter in the modern era? Prime Hunters was a great blueprint for what could be a "hero shooter". The other bounty hunters outside of Samus already exist, Sylux of course, Weavel, Rundas, Trace, and others. Now yes, in regards to lore most of them got clapped already. But if we're just talking about a multiplayer mode, I don't think people will care about that.

It's a pretty short game. A casual playthrough might take you about 15hrs or so. There's also that flow state that most Metroid games have where you start unlocking more abilities, and traversing and backtracking for item pickups becomes a quick and smooth process.

The motorcycle desert section feels so half-baked & tacked-on; that’s my main gripe with the game
Aside from that, I’m really enjoying everything else.

1. Fed Force was ridiculed for its chibi art style; imagine waiting half a decade for a new Metroid game and that’s the rubbish they tried to serve us.
2. I wish they had spent some of these 6-7 years of development on a multiplayer mode with NST (studio that worked on Hunters) assisting them.. Hunters definitely deserved a remake, especially to introduce people to Sylux before MP4 dropped.
This is highkey a reach: my copy of MP4 came with a pamphlet advertising NSO, and I was like “Hold on, MP4 doesn’t support online.. What if?”
This and Dk Bananza on chrisgmas eve is going to make me feel like a Child again
