Judging from the reviews its definitely a game I would enjoy. Some reviews are hating on it because its not more than a Prime game but I feel like thats what the fans want.
Only negative for me are the npcs
I also loved (and still do) skyward sword, more than TP even so i probably was always going to love this going by everything we've seen so far.
I hope someone like kiwi talkz can find someone to spill the tea on the project in like 5 years, im very curious about some of these decisions and how much from the current game is a product of the original bamco singapore production
The main takeaway i got from most reviews is if you really love the prime games you'll love this one although not without some grievances, but its not the unmissable masterpiece that everyone hyped it up to be. Disappointing for sure but great metroid games don't come too often so im not complaining too much. Cant wait to spend the entire weekend on it
And in general, these immersive 1st-person action-adventure games are quite rare so it’s nice to be able to experience a brand-new one.
Scorn was actually one of the main reasons why I decided to cop a Series X because it looked like it would scratch that Metroid Prime itch, and it definitely did in its beautifully-crafted atmosphere & environments (though the combat & puzzles left a lot to be desired).
Enjoyers of traditional 3D Zeldas rejoice!
This leads me to a take those traditional Zelda fans wont like - this is the reception a traditional Zelda would get in 2025, and its one of the reasons open world Zelda is here to stay hate it or love it i hope 3d Metroid doesnt follow suit and become open world as well
John from DF saying this has one of the best HDR implementations hes seen recently makes me very happy i just got an lg oled lol
i think it's gonna be lower than everyone's thinking. but i'd love to be wrong
I’m thinking mid 70s
Currently sitting at a 79 on Metacritic..
Imagine caring this much about what other MEN think
#damagecontrol #copium
Yeah expected tbh. Still going to be fire
Oh jeez

lmaoooooo. idk how i'd react while playing it, but reading this? comedy gold
watched the IGN review (they gave it an 8).
looks good i think i would enjoy it. not gonna cop this right away -i actually want to play MP1 Remastered first. I've never been a Prime guy so I want to go back to the original first
damn some reviewers saying this one of the best metroids, up there with super Metroid and prime 1
I can’t wait any longer
PC mag giving this a 10 is crazy they don’t usually give perfect scores to Nintendo games, even DK, Mario Wonder, Dread and Pikmin 4 they gave a 9

Payola
I think ima go quality mode on my first run and performance on the second, 60fps is plenty enough for my first experience
Tbh the only thing these reviews negatively impacted for me is copping an amiibo day 1. Now the viola amiibo is a "wait if game becomes a strong favorite" cop
I hope they add echoes soon after this release, i still need to play it and don't wanna dust off my wii to do it

That’s exactly what I was hoping for during launch week—a behind-the-scenes reveal about the MP4 project, like how they revealed DK Bananza was originally a Switch 1 project two days before that game’s launch.
But instead they just published this:

Guessing we’ll get the interview later on

LMAO they're trolling us hard, but to stay on topic i think a Nintendo interview, while certainly interesting, wouldnt be as revealing as an external, indipendent interview with ex devs would. Hopefully we get both!

Yep, these official interviews are still safeguarded by PR; you’re not getting an exposé-style interview from big daddy Nintendo
The score itself is disappointing, but actually reading/watching reviews from longtime fans it seems like a great prime game so im still quite hyped. But this definitely will lead to Metroid's botw era, this game feels like skyward sword in a lot of ways, so at least non-fans or people put off by the meta can find solace in a brighter future lol
A BOTW-esque open world for Metroid could actually work as long we still get tightly-designed linear locations that are reminiscent of the Prime subseries
But rather than embrace open world since it’s trendy (Mario Kart World anyone?), I would prefer the Metroid series to get the Mario 3D Land treatment—what I mean by this is a brand-new take on 3D Metroid that tries to bridge the gap between 3D and the 2D Metroids, similar to what Mario 3D Land tried to pull off.
So for example, you’d see Samus in 3rd person and she’ll have the agile movement & speed from the 2D games. Imagine during a Space Pirate shoot-out Samus seamlessly rolling into Morph Ball form to outmaneuver her enemies and then going in for the kill with a well-timed missile blast..
That’s my dream game right there

for us to advance as a culture we must learn to hate breath of the wild I already kinda do
