stg this album damn near a greatest hits compilation
Subjectively I was never a huge fan of that early 2010s glossy ATL production but I respect him for using his clout/power to try and make something that just feels fun and carefree, especially when things have been looking bleak as of late.
most of the way thru the album i kind of agree
but i like the specificity of what he's doing. usually whenever an artist is "nostalgia baiting" it's so generic or broad that it falls flat, but this is so specific in trying to recreate a specific era of a specific city, it's really commendable
This project is deadass a love letter to DatPiiff and LiveMixtapes
Gotta give Metro props, this is some real hip hop s***
didn't have to do something like this but he did
Metro was already goated but gah damn.

What separates Metro from his other contemporaries is when it comes to making albums/mixtapes, he figures out exactly what it WILL sound like and HOW to execute the overall project. He knows how to execute a vision. Love or hate his drums or whatever, but his true strength is being a fantastic curator.
I might get hate for this but Slide makes me want to dance more than anything on that Tyler album
