I think your last point is it. I feel like people subconsciously judge producer albums differently because there isn’t a singular artist’s voice throughout the entire project tying it together.

Which is why it always makes me roll my eyes when people say “I only like the beat” or that producers are carrying rappers nowadays because 95% of listeners do not and would not listen to an instrumental album without vocals.

The producer lays the foundation of a song with the music, and the artist contextualizes that music with lyrics, melody, and themes

Gave both this and the other Metro Heroes project a listen. I recognized some of the songs on the first one from being played at work lol. This one definitely feels more like an album and less compilation.

Am I tripping or did asap ruin feel the fyiah? That sample is beautiful and takeoff verse was perfect

The first half of the song was just him rapping offbeat saying nothing but he was Gucci the rest of the track
