Drake is a very strategic artist. He knows who to work with to extend his mainstream relevance, but gives his collaborators way more exposure by collaborating with them. It's mutually beneficial and has seen Drake organically extend his mainstream dominance, in a way no other rapper has ever done, for over a decade. It's in no way a vulture move and is actually one of the coolest things dude has done because he's given so many other artists their big breaks, but it's not like it's some benevolent gift that he sees no benefit from lol.
It’s not a vulture move but the fans need to educate themselves on the artists that he’s collabing with

Neither were begging and Future benefitted more from the Drake collabs than Drake did from Future
But y'all can't say Drake didn't make a significant career shift that benefitted him a lot with the Future collabs
Drake absolutely benefited and I wouldn't ever say he didn't.. just using this guys logic to show how absurd that notion is.. both of them floated and project was amazing and both realized they work well together and that's that. Future did want WATTBA2 but obvi future doesn't beg for s***.. just tryna say based on what Mr. Peter griffin avy said future would be considered "begging" by same standard
Dude the digital dash story is how WATTBA happened and that by no means is drake begging you sound delusional considering every artist besides Kanye and Cole tryna get drake features.. also why are you so mean every time you post or reply on here?
My bad if I came across as rude big dawg that wasn’t my intention
Metro was probably listening to this on the way to school, inspired about using this sound in his beats. 40 putting choirs on top of trap drums is something Metro would go on to do in his songs

Drake was the one begging Future and Metro to be on their songs lol
Bro said “begging”
Drake himself regularly pays his respects to other artists while still acknowledging that he's on the top of the game
Some of y'all are just weird
We know Drake is a GOAT. We know Drake has classics. We know Drake is #1 in rap and #2 in music behind Taylor Swift alone. We know Drake has surpassed Kanye West. But Metro is still that guy man.

bro i linked the songs Drake and 40 made that pre-date any Metro song by years, hang it up you've been going all day, music history is music history

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2eCPeGuljAThere were a lot of people putting choral synths or straight up choir vocals over trap drums before 40 did that here
Great song/project though
i loved carry out
lyrics kinda aged like cheese but the beat is insano and good melody

The whole "choir vocals" over trap drums sound is basically just a very slightly adjusted version of your average dirty south record from the 2000s lol
Some of us are Canadian
Drizzler is too so you're okay
I actually love UK hip hop too but I'll always make fun of Britain when I can

Dirty South music was doing this sound way before 2010 lmao

fair
neither begged each other for anything
Also let it be known that Drake and 40 are heavily and openly inspired by dirty south music lol. UGK is one of the most influential groups on Drake's sound and bro created Houston Appreciation Week to pay tribute
Really not hard to figure that one out. The smooth, languid, trap-ish sound that Pimp C was working on in the early 90s has played a colossal role in Drake's catalog and the uprising of trap music in general
fair
neither begged each other for anything
I was being inflammatory by saying begging but on some real s*** Drake recognized Future and Metro had some special going on and wanted to join in on it. I think it’s lame for the Drake to try and diminish Metro all these years later

yeah the BEAT bro

Absolutely. Future and drake both dons.. they would never

100% they had something cooking no doubt! but don't you think the way metros acting he himself is diminishing WATTBA and all his glory of that era? like purposefully going out of his way to act like drake is trash lol.. metro is def a phenomenal generational even level producer but to act like drake features and co-signs and collaborations aren't amazing and even to an extent career heightening is kinda wild.. I mean every head knows the drizzy stimulus exists lol
