Bruh is still holding a brick and i just saw him smash a chick. Well yeah bruh i dont wanna be a news headline thank you very much. Self preservation is as primitive as sticks and rocks. I aint no superman.
I would stick around and talk to cops to get a license plate.
These same tired a-- podcast talking points and debates that go nowhere because everyone just wants to have their ah ha! moment.
I'm so done with this.
Yeah, I think you're exactly right. It's a society that is generally less trusting, and people are less confident that their kindness is going to be reciprocated.
I was also trying to get at the fact that a lot of this discourse isn't really in good faith, in the sense that a lot of it is stemming from "loser culture" or whatever you want to call it.
I'm not really sure what to make of that. Does that invalidate the legitimate argument for not wanting to put your life on the line for a stranger? Probably not. But I think there is a larger problem here where men are looking to get back at women for some perceived wrongdoing, and they see the whole "you're own your own" attitude as a way of doing that.
Just speaking generally here, so instead of men changing the narrative about them "being useless", "not being protectors", or "being violent towards women" their solution is...doing nothing and carrying a "You're on your own" attitude towards women instead of checking men who are violent towards women?
Only sharing this cause it's real.
It's just strange to have that "Only helping women I know or am related to" energy because...do both situations not hold the same exact risks whether you know the woman or not? You're only capable of doing the right thing if it's for a woman you know? I hate to tell ya fam...but if that's the case, your heart ain't in the right place. And I still just doubt you'd do anything regardless even if you knew them.
This tweet is important to look at, mostly because of the last line.
There's a lot of bitterness to it, and I think that basically sums up the current situation. Our society has an increasingly large portion of men who feel wrong/alienated by the mainstream of society in some way, and thus don't want to stick their necks out for the "in group".
I'm not sure if it's right or wrong in the sense that trying to save a stranger has definitely gotten plenty of people killed. But the issue here isn't necessarily men calculating the risk to their livelihoods (although I'm sure that's a factor) as much as it is a reflection of a very angry and atomized society
The way she talking in the second vid makes me believe she said more than a simple “no”
But nonetheless a brick to the face is crazy

Man I feel like plenty of girlfriends would be pissed if their man would protect a random woman as well lmao

Seeing as how we live in a world where women are still susceptible to violence even with a "simple no". So much so that they have resorted to lying about having a man, giving the dude asking for their number, their man or father's number instead, or giving the dude a fake number just for them to be left alone...imma be honest man, it don't really matter how she said no. Nobody is entitled to your phone number if you do not want to give it out
Man I feel like plenty of girlfriends would be pissed if their man would protect a random woman as well lmao
it’s tragic but this is the wrong way to look at it
the best answer is intervene if you’re big and the guy isn’t armed and can be restrained
don’t intervene if it could get you killed, instead try and raise attention one way or another
2 people dying is a worse outcome than one person dying, the ideal is no one dying
Man I feel like plenty of girlfriends would be pissed if their man would protect a random woman as well lmao
Again...these same risks exist even if you know the woman. So what exactly is the difference?
This reminds me of that music video Trae that Truth made where he jumped in to defend a random black woman and died

Man I feel like plenty of girlfriends would be pissed if their man would protect a random woman as well lmao
Nigga doesn't have to come in that b**** like superman. Just a simple "Yo this ain't worth it bro!" "chill out bro!" would go a long way. Seems like they just stood by as this woman was assaulted

if a dude is attacking a woman with a brick i dont think telling him to chill out is gonna help

You'd be surprised how much that'll snap someone back into their senses. To just stand by and not say a word while a woman is assaulted is despicable

I would be surprised because thats not how it works
ive seen DV happen in front of me it doesnt stop without physical intervention

Nah I’ve seen it work Niggas be drunk sometimes

S***, probably saying "Yo it's twelve out here" would be enough to make a dude wylin out start acting like he got sense again.
Not intervening in any DV situations. I'll just tell him to chill or call the cops
Again...these same risks exist even if you know the woman. So what exactly is the difference?
Not arguing with or against. Just saying I wouldn't really get mad at anyone saying they don't want to intervine
The situation and the whole discussion surrounding itself is sad
