BanditoNah both the defence and prosecution was horrible. However, the defence implied Kelsey fired the gun but didn’t tell us what happened. That makes zero sense.
I mean at the end of the day, the defense is only as good as the jury deems credible, right?
They clearly did not care about Kelly’s testimony or Kelsey’s testimony in court or inconclusive dna, etc.
So in hindsight, he didn’t really have a chance no matter the defense.
He was f***ed. IMO and to your point, he may have needed to truly introduce himself to the jury and tell them what happened and explicit identified Kelsey as the shooter, even if they would have went at his past and his character

MissingnoI agree with this. I don't think the prosecution actually proved the assault charge, just the negligent discharge + possession.
However I can also see the logic of the jury being the following:
1) If Tory was confirmed in possession of the gun and discharged it
2) And Megan was confirmed to have been shot by somebody
3) Then Tory had to be the one to shoot Meg aka sort of proving the assault chargeI think that since Kelsey was not named as a co-defendant there was no need for the jury to consider her as a possible co-assailant (which would've added to the reasonable doubt).
She really was thinking ahead by getting transactional immunity, but truthfully it seems like Kelsey should've gotten charges too
They had not have not really entertained her as a potential shooter even though IMO it’s impossible not to

Kelsey wasn’t on trial so if the jury believed Megan’s complete story which it sounds like they did. Tory needed to get up there and tell a story about how he couldn’t possibly have shot her. Also his lawyer was mad awkward at the end of the case. Making jokes and trying to get friendly with the jury

Why didnt Tory testify?
He didn’t need to testify IMO
His defense did enough to raise reasonable doubt
But in hindsight the jury really didn’t care so I’m saying it would have helped if he got on the stand and gave his detailed recollection of what happened, and allowed the jury to gain a better understanding of who he is
They don’t know tory lanez
They just know there’s a tatted up rapper on the stand for beating up a woman. Probably could have done a better job of selling tory the person more.
