The framing of the Meg case as “protect black women / believe all women” was bad optics but a lot of y’all niggas really do hate women.

Any time one of y’all faves gets accused of sexual assault or domestic violence a lot of yall immediately look for any reason to discredit the victim or some s***.

Like I remember when it was Tekashi Stans running around. it took him being a snitch for y’all to stop fw bruh and not the fact that he plead guilty to that s*** with a minor

with regards to Kelsey's testimony, what i think it seems to have come down to for the jury was the incentive she had to lie or tell the truth in given situations

first off, Kelsey texting "Tory shot meg" the night of could have been a lie, but I imagine given the verdict the jury thought it was a stretch that in a text the night of when she was likely not thinking about masterminding a coverup by creating misleading evidence

This was added to her September interview, in which, from what I've heard, she seemed quite forthcoming and detailed in the story she told (and not pressured to be there, incidentally) in a way which lined up perfectly with her text being candid. now, maybe the court reporter who said that was putting their slant on it, but again from the verdict and the fact that they asked to see it again, they seemed to think she was being sincere. again, the incentive for her to create this fake story apparently seemed low to them

(as i said earlier, if that was a big part of their verdict, tory's lawyer really f***ed up by inadvertently allowing the entire thing to be shown to the jury through his attempt to accuse the prosecution of

now, of course, she took all of that interview back when she actually got on the stand. but, to my eyes, if the jury ended up thinking there wasn't reasonable doubt tory did it, they seem to have put more stock in the interview (where she was forthcoming and remembered everything) than in the testimony, where she claimed to not remember the true versions of a lot of things that she claims she lied about in very detailed fashion. regarding the text, she says she "assumed" but didn't see. not necessarily certainly false, but of course, if she doesn't remember but is certain that she didn't do it or wasn't engaged in some sort of crazy scuffle that caused it, then what?

we can give theories for precisely why she changed her story/would have lied at any given point in these three times (bribes, not incriminating herself, whatever), but if someone seems totally candid and detailed at one point (the interview), then claims to not remember anything and gives a totally unconvincing testimony that is allegedly "the truth," the series of statements where they're clamming up is likely going to be less convincing. that's how the jury seems to have seen it, anyway

They had to basically think the texts were real her Sept interview was real and the testimony last week was straight bullshit

They also basically had to completely dismiss Kelly’s testimony too

Does anybody know what the minimum sentence he's facing is? I can't find anything other than random people claiming it's 22 years. All I know is the penal code says 3, 6, or 9 years, but I don't know what the sentencing enhancements are

Maybe end up serving less than that with parole and times served but he’s serving real time, don’t think they being overly dramatic

In order to get time served you need to have, ya know, served time and not have been on bail. How many months did he sit in jail?
