Y’all gotta understand that when you pull the “not all black men” card you’re doing the same s*** white people do about racism
It’s understood that you may not actively be suppressing the voices of black women or harming them but you’re inherently benefiting for a patriarchal system. Black men may be oppressed but we still have advantages that black women don’t have
It’s a privilege that should be acknowledged
And black women have advantages that we don’t have
you're overgeneralizing black men. Not all black men are oppressors towards black women, black gay people, or trans people.
And it irks me that there has to be some sort of who's oppressed the most game in our community when were ALL oppressed by society due to our skin color.
Girl stop
Black men in general are a hazard to not just black women but themselves & their communities
But it has more to do with broken homes, communities, social injustices, oppression & years of mistreatment than black men being the mindless barbarics people think
we deadass an embarrassment
Pathologizing black males is acceptable so long as it's done in the framework of progressive politics, the parallels between weaponizing IPV to "prove" black male's oppressive behavior and racists weaponizing IQ testing in works like The Bell Curve are off the charts.
what is iPV?
No. They’re goofy people, over the top, and borderline insane. I love them for their art but I’m not going to pretend these are regular people. I expect Tory Lanez to let off and hit a Houston rapper in the foot over some
dumb s***, literally.
This might be one of the most garbage takes I’ve ever seen on this site

More like we got to start acknowledging black issues as a whole and stop putting s*** in separate spaces
ok word. all i'm saying is people call for the destruction of twitter like it's the catalyst for all evil in the world. twitter is the platform, the "evil" stems from its users.
that would be like blaming the presidential race for existing instead of the people who elected our president
just doesn't compute for me
to me it just isnt a good way of mass communication, im not at all saying that removing twitter will rid the world of its issues
but improving it will certainly help to minimize some
Like what?
More educated
Higher earning
Lower incarceration rates
Less likely to be shot
Less likely to be assualted by police
Less likely to commit suicide
Less likely to be homeless
That doesn’t equate to being the white people of the black community.
White people enslaved us, wouldn’t let us go to school, prevented niggas from getting jobs, bombed our businesses, you name it and these white people have done it to us. America was built off the labor of black people. A lot of whites today are reaping the benefits off of the oppression of black people.
If y’all wanna say that violence in the black community is a big problem then say that. But don’t say we’re the white men of the black community

I am not barbaric. I am a human being.

No because black women are fighting racism as well as sexism
The fight for liberation needs to be a fight to disable all forms of oppression
niggas is legit not getting this s*** because they feelings hurt by the term LMAO
f***ing b**** ass baby ass niggas
The however you were responding to was a bridge to the topic of oppression. I’m sure you know the definition of that, and given the context of the social climate we live in, I’m sure you know which definition of oppression I was referring to. I said black men don’t have the facilities to actually oppress black women in the way the definition of the word would entail, but we do have to acknowledge how we hurt them in other ways
so your issue is more with word selection and not the actual gripes black women are calling out? i can dig that but i also think the focus should be on what they're actually trying to say to us and not necessarily how they say it. sure the word "oppress" may not be the best fit, but the idea remains valid.

Understand what you’re saying
Black women are the highest educated group of people yet still have to fight these battles for equal pay and equal opportunity
