My therapists mentor was close friends with TNH
Bro said he was a really angry dude. Struggled with it alot behind the scenes as a monk. Pretty inspiring though cause he really was just a human finding stability in this life and exuding peace and love despite his struggles
i actually did it correctly on saturday? very moving very motivating
tried again yesterday and failed, nothing .

Real. Consistency is king. Not all sessions will be high quality
Meditation has been incredibly helpful.
But has anyone gone through a time where meditation just completely clears your brain?
Like I don't talk as much anymore since I don't have as many thoughts going on since I've been meditating daily

you accidentally unlocked void meditation
i did once too and as a person with adhd whose mind is noisy 80-90% of the day it freaked me tf out

How did you get out of it? I can't create any original thoughts in my head as much and now I don't know how to talk to people

well how long has it been?
for me, the feeling lasted maybe 12 hours, and then at one point mid day I came back to normal
it wasn't something I had to do actively, just went to work and halfway through the day, some part of me just woke up again

It's been like this for awhile after I've been meditating for a few months consistency. I don't have much to say these past few weeks

Yo, NGL, based on the last two posts you just made including this one I want to ask if you’ve been feeling any anything else that’s weird besides from having trouble creating original thoughts? Because some of that stuff sounds like….depersonalization?
I don’t wanna pry, just Thought I’d ask because at first glance that’s what I thought of immediately
On a diff note, I was doing 15 minutes a day for a while and I fell off and I’ve been meaning to get back into it, do people prefer guided meditations in here? I’ve never been too fond of them, but I’m always open to the idea

Hmm, well, I've been living on my own this past year and haven't really made any friends or find a new girl long term, so I just exercise, meditate, and work. Don't socialize too much unless I travel out of state. Feel pretty robotic at times
What is depersonalization exactly?

I do timer based that have a little guide. You can use the app Medito to help with timers, guided, and counting streaks.
been doing 5-10 mins a day for the past 10 days
Nice, how've you been feeling these past 10 days?

So Depersonalization can and often does go hand-in-hand with de-realization (but it doesn’t have to) dpdr is the acronym used when they co-occur
I only suggested it as a possibility because I have experienced it as a result of psychedelic abuse before and some of the stuff you said sounded like it aligned with What you posted? But this is copied and pasted from mayoclinic website
Depersonalization symptoms
Symptoms of depersonalization include:
Feelings that you're seeing your thoughts, feelings, or body or parts of your body from the outside. For example, you may feel like you're floating in the air above yourself.
Feeling like a robot or that you're not in control of what you say or how you move.
The sense that your body, legs or arms appear twisted or like they're not the right shape. Or they may seem larger or smaller than usual. You also could feel that your head is wrapped in cotton.
Emotional or physical numbness of your senses or responses to the world around you.
A sense that your memories lack emotion, and they may or may not be your own memories.
Derealization symptoms
Symptoms of derealization include:
Feeling that people and your surroundings are not real, like you're living in a movie or a dream.
Feeling emotionally disconnected from people you care about, as if you were separated by a glass wall.
Surroundings that appear out of their usual shape, or are blurry or colorless. Or they may seem like they only have two dimensions, so they're flat with no depth. Or you could be more aware of your surroundings, and they may appear clearer than usual.
Thoughts about time that are not real, such as recent events feeling like the distant past.
Unrealistic thoughts about distance and the size and shape of objects.
Just something to watch out for potentially, it sounds like it could be a temporary thing that you’re experiencing and maybe not even entirely negative per se? But yeah check that link out But also don’t stress, And I’m sorry if I’m scaring you, lol just trying to watch out a member of the community

Appreciate it man. Will look into this further.
I wonder if meditation alone can cause this or if this is a result of something else
Was initiated into Kriya Yoga two weeks ago and it’s the best practice I’ve ever had the chance of doing after years of being a mediator
I usually did Zen style which i still honor but Kriya reflects where I’m at on my spiritual journey now

What is Kriya yoga?
What is Kriya yoga?
guru to guru lineage based meditation techniques that focuses on breath control and spinal stretches to direct life force energy. The goal is to deepen self-realization aka union with the Divine.
It’s a practice you can be initiated into by a guru blessing but can’t teach yourself in order to preserve purity of the teaching.
It’s an ancient technique but Paramahansa Yogananda is the most well known contemporary to spread it from India into the west who wrote the book Autobiography of a Yogi.
I luckily have a Kriya Yoga ashram close to where I live although I had no clue what it was before hand but everything clicked for me there since my journey was already leading me towards the same spiritual teachings unknowingly
