Tbh, I think it’s complicated.
Yeah, mental illnesses can make you act up and cause toxic s*** to go down in your life, as well as f***ing up your motion in other ways (I, personally, have had a hard time with motivation and getting started with, or finishing things, due to my depression). When that happens we need to understand that the person with the illness isn’t always 100% at fault. However, I don’t think Healy’s illness is the main problem causing this outburst.
The problem here, with Healy, is that he is using the illness as an excuse to take a negative path before he even takes it.
It’s not even his mental health making him choose this, at least not directly; it seems to me he is just doing this because he feels like it and he knows he can deflect any criticism with cries of ableism.
However, he is the one who is most in the wrong here imo, and any cries of ableism or allusions to mental illness from him will simply hurt others who suffer from mental illnesses.
