I disagree as I feel the fighting choreography in Dune is wayy better than matrix 4, its also something where they just hire the right choreographer, but I hear you. Different vibe forsure, but I think if Denis wanted to he could give Matrix a new feel that is great in its own right.
I don't disagree that in general the action in Dune is much better than the action here but both aren't what I want from a Matrix movie action wise
Hiring the right choreographer is pretty much only half the battle too, MCU movies have had choreographers who worked on John Wick movies but you'd never tell due to how the action is shot and edited
Denis is kind of like Nolan where he's best at shooting these big epic setpieces but more intimate combat based action scenes aren't really his primary strength

In theory it can have good action set pieces and nothing more.
His writing is insufferable,and he would just add a bunch of non-subtle Jesus symbolism to a character that already has some subtle Jesus symbolism.
I can imagine him slapping Neo in front of a church and do a slowmo reinnesance painting and thinking he got one.
The whole idea of him doing Matrix is just wrong,there are a thousand other projects I'd rather see his name attached to.

I feel that. 100. Maybe someone more like an Ong Bak would fit matrix with the right writers and team. Ong Bak action sequences were crazy innovative.
