    i’m not the most avowed stan but i know the classics, life aquatic, tennenbaums, fantastic mr fox, moonrise kingdom etc

    I found French dispatch better then life aquatic and moonrise kingdom. For me he’s always been hit or miss but lately I’ve been enjoying them more then disliking. Isle of dogs was visually great but nothing stood out to me there

    yeah i think i’m the same way sometimes he just doesn’t hit for me. it’s funny tho cause i feel the exact same way about isle of dogs

    I think it could be kind of confusing on the first watch through if you don’t understand the structure of the film

    I do find it self indulgent, but I find that enjoyable

    i think maybe it’s just that the self indulgence here just doesn’t align with my personal taste , i.e. why i didn’t really like this but will defend other s*** like anno , or some aspects of this he matrix franchise
