There could be a plethora of reasons why she decided not to work with Fishburne
The photo-op with Sophia Stewarts years ago is just one plausible explanation
We’re kinda assuming here that Fishburne was really even aware of the dynamics and politics put in play for that photo that day, we have no background story and no way to fact check whether Fishburne actually cosigned her or was just being nice to an apparent fan of his atm.
So yeah let’s not postulate a grand thesis of Sophia and Fishburne being big buddies which in turn angered Lana until it comes out of her own mouth or by admission of Laurence himself.
