It still is in a way lol but yeah I get what you are saying if we saw the cast die one by one and it essentially said "didn't you say you wanted despair"
This might be the first time i’ve seen a movie this big leave so many “good guys” from the team intact and alive. That was refreshing to see. Cus usually films resort to people dying to get a sense of urgency and dread but it just feels redundant nowadays and stale.

It feels the movie is going "Oh, I'm a give y'all what you think you want with none of the satisfaction. Now go touch grass"

Like the part where they're like "when you think of Matrix, you think of Bullet Time"
And I'm sitting here like "Wow, they are really about to make this whole movie about why there shouldn't be another movie". Very bold, albeit a little too on the nose at times...
Then it turns into another Matrix movie anyways.
