mjpplusI’m still like dead in the middle lmao
I liked a lot of aspects but I wasn’t a fan of Smith, some character decisions, and the more I sit on it the less I like the action
Gonna rewatch to like get my set opinion because I really don’t think I’ve ever been this middle on a movie
i admit that maybe im just ready to like it since i liked my first watch but i was genuinely surprised at how much more i enjoyed my second run. SO many details etc that i missed

Delete this nowJust realized i basically came out to KTT because of this thread and moreso because of this movie I’ve come out more because for the first time in awhile the discussion about trans identity is mainstream in a positive sense thanks to Lana and how the vast majority if ppl in my life are defending this movie against the panning (because its a good f***ing movie) and people are talking about the allegories and it’s generated an environment where I can f***ing talk about the s*** to people. Idk if that makes sense or if it sounds like im gassing it but it’s a wild feeling after most discussions lately have been ppl defending chapelle and jk rowling n s***. Like its usually been so negative. Only naysayer here was some kid who thought he was neo in middle school.

I feel you. I can see why, but I really liked Smith going in I was scared that I was gonna hate him lol.
I feel like the middle with Niobe / IO was the weakest part

Second viewing finished.
First viewing I gave it a 4 out of 10.
Second viewing I could abstract myself from the awful filmmaking and tone and focus more on the themes. It wasn't so jarring because I knew exactly what I was expecting and could focus on other things. The script is legitimately good. Probably the best Matrix since the first one in terms of writing and creative concepts. But at the end of the day this still has huge amateurish flaws in all other areas.
So my final score is a 5, and 4 points are for the script. Everything else is a 1.
