I am basing it on previews. I never said spider man 2 is a terrible game. I said it didnt work for me and I am glad it worked for others. I directly list why and have playtime on all spider man games on my playstation account. I am allowed to talk about it.

Spider Man 2 at least open world and character switch mechanic but budget or not some of the writing, pacing decisions just a mess in general but think they can get it on track.

I am going based on youtube previews. But they not going crazy in. I am not talking about twitter hyperbole bullshit either way. I laughed at ben 10 comparison but the thing there in general is people just want to see creative level design in general which is inevitable. People want to see things they would never expect . S*** Control resoant the combat looks okay to me or I cant tell if I will love the combat but the level design looks absolutely bonkers so I am in. Doing a bunch of explosions and guns shots around the player showing limited boss fights and same enemy types yes some people going to complain. Then the previews saying its about what you expect isnt going to get people crazy hyped. They going to buy it but the general consensus of its about what you would expect vs "wow there was this level I cant talk about that really flipped what I expected on its head" or something isnt going to hype people

I am saying I think it will be an 8 and a solid game. I have said I think some are going extra hard on it because they are tired of the formula itself. I dont think it will be bad. I have said that many times and Nobodywins isnt really reading so is getting defensive of the game. Even in other threads when we shooting the s*** during d23. I do think the vertical slices they have shown to show of the game are parts of the game that dont show the best . They need to mix up the content they are showing of the game. Showing that Sentinnel boss fight with the arms lighting up and hitting them as they slam down just an odd part to show

Of course we dont know the contents of the full game but when you are showing a game there are some parts you dont want to dwell on too long. I said the same about the on rail beginning part of the phantom blade 0 11 minute trailer. The second half of that trailer is much better because it shows a variety of boss fights and environments quickly .

Wolverine is showing a bit too much of the cutscenes and rails segments especially for a month away from launch so some mainly have previews to go by
