Watched it this morning and Martin’s takes always have me on edge since I enjoy his side of the reviews the most lol
Side Note: planning on seeing them on their tour
That’s so dope. They’ve been doing the tours since their old site/job etc and the community and tour nights they do seem really fun
He said what I feared most would be the result of this movie. I’ll watch it for myself of course but if it is true that Chloe Zhao’s “footprint” is barely even recognized then that really is a shame
I think Korey said the same thing ? Like it’s not different from her other movies
I never seen her work so idk so when she was announced I didn’t think much of it
Side note: have you ever been to their shows? I always wonder how big their audience is. I discovered them a couple years back
Nope, I started watching when the Infinity War trailer came out and from the other uploads and them talking about the shows outside of the studio it seems like it would be fun lol
I was just gonna get the VIP and do the before and after meet and greet. 98% sure it’s just gonna be pregaming & getting drunk after
, the 100 bucks better be worth it

I saw Danielle’s only fans and yeah I want a turn after I dap up Martin and take a shot with Korey

I haven’t seen her movies either I just have this theory that marvel nabs really good up and coming directors and molds them to make the movie they want, Instead of giving true creative freedom.
Double Toasted Is my new favorite place for watching bad movie reviews. They clown on and notice the same kinda s*** in movies as me, and clown it far better than say, Nostalgia critic
One of the few times youtube put something random in my queue that paid off lol
Ps Martin the MVP

Still remember when they were animated
I’m not watching this s*** but the hiroshima scene sounds hilarious
What scene is this

It's not a theory they're upfront with that but you also don't need to be creative tho lol
Jon watts had two mid films pre Spiderman

I’m not gunna say it itt cuz I feel like I’ll get banned for spoilers (even tho it not really one) but it’s exactly like it sounds

True true but lately it seems they been looking for certain “types” of directors who do indie films mostly. Nia DaCosta, Bassam Tariq, Destin Cretton, Taika.. etc
Jon Watts and Peyton Reed cut from the same cloth tho as far as their former films go.
I mean it’s a win-win for these indie directors because they get exposure of the highest degree and probably a good chunk of money. Marvel gets a name plate and a malleable creative who’s still fairly new to the industry and open to guidance from a major conglomerate.
I think back to Edgar Wright’s split with marvel because of ‘creative differences’. If you don’t play the game then beat it

Totally agree, like with BP and the fight scenes being ass I was thinking , isn’t this the same guy that made CREED ?
I saw like one Taika movie before Thor 3 it was just as silly lol he’s the only one I felt like had freedom since the rumor was that 80% of the movie was improvised

Yeah I think it largely depends on what your doing like Thor Ragnarok lended itself to Taiko style but I don't think Eternals was the right for Zhoa.
Nia I expect to do well with The Marvel's far better then the first cause she has Candyman under her belt and is big into genre films.

To be fair Edgar split from Marvel was more Purlmutter who was a horrible racist and sexist who everyone hated and eventually pushed out.
If Edgar came back now I think it be different

Last fight scene was pure ass, some of other ones weren’t bad but compared to Creed?! Not even close
You felt like the fight scenes were ass?
Personally, only one I go back to was the first fight with killmonger

To be fair Creed fighting is very different from blockbuster action fighting. Personally I think that's why the ending fight scenes were so weak cause Ryan just didn't have the skills for it yet.

Oh yeah I thought that too, felt like the fight should of been more intimate like the one before instead of the gigantic ps2 graphics spectacular. Still a solid movie nonetheless thst was just the studio’s fault

Wright ain’t a sell out

Ryan showed the risk of hiring a unskilled director for a blockbuster job same way Zhoa is.
You get a fresh perspective but like they don't always have the skills a stronger director might for fight scenes or Eternals case looking anything but grey
