I did read somewhere that in the original version Foggy was gonna be dead from the beginning.

Pretty much every scene with Karen, Foggy, Bullseye, or Vanessa Fisk are reshoots and were not originally going to be present. (I cannot believe that sentence is a real f***ing thing I just said for a Daredevil show)

So very likely it was gonna start with Karen/Foggy being dead and him having not been DD from the beginning.
