I just feel like certain established characters you just can't change too much otherwise it'll just feel like a completely different character. A black cyclops just wouldn't feel like Cyclops anymore. It'd feel like a different character

The way you phrased this makes it seem like you just read wiki pages rather than comics or source material themselves. He's not like T'Challa at all....? And if he was how would that be an argument for making him black?
I'd rather see the diversity of the mutant world be elevated if anything.
